Cronulla takes another win in 18-14 victory against North Queensland

Cronulla was lackluster for 50min yet somehow bummed out a win. As they have done frequently this season.

The Sharks choked a 14--0 halftime deficit to set off North Queensland 18--14 at ground Shark Park.

Cronulla were behind for 65min. They hung hard and played rough under pressure. Somehow, they find themselves wining. It may be short-term but at this very moment Cronulla are on top of the ranking. They will be back to secure their championship in September, no doubt. Until Thursday evening, Cronulla had won just one time at Shark Park, losses against the Titans, Broncos and Dragons.

Cronulla’s only win at home ground had been a one point win over last placed Newcastle in Round Five. It was a brave performance from a Cowboy’s side without star player Johnathan Thurston, who is still out with a shoulder damage. If ruled out, it is projected Michael Morgan would jump at five eighth with either Daly Cherry-Evans, Anthony Milford or Cameron Munster being nominated as the bench player.

It certainly didn’t wraith the Cowboys. North Queensland pressed further ahead in the 34th minute when bench player Ben Hampton scored. Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt simply got on the outside of his opposite Feki before sending Hampton away for a simple try. Feldt converted to give North Queensland a 10--0 lead. And then, on halftime, Feldt again got the better of Feki. A Michael Morgan cross-field kick saw Feldt get up above Feki to score a vital try. Feldt missed the conversion but the visitors led by 14-0 points. The Sharks were flat throughout the first half.
